Terrain and Pathways

  • Sidewalks and Pathways: Concrete sidewalks are available throughout the property. Trails are not accessible with standard wheelchairs; however, beach wheelchairs are available at each location upon request.
  • Public Areas: All public areas are accessible, including ramps at key locations and accessible restrooms throughout the property.
  • Doors: Exterior building doors are not automated.
  • Parking:
    • Camp Store: Paved lot with one designated accessible parking spot.
    • Gator Lake: Gravel lot with one designated accessible parking spot.
    • Jetty Store: Paved lot with three designated accessible parking spots.
    • Pier: Paved lot with three designated accessible parking spots.

Activities

  • Trails: Two trails are available, each approximately 0.5 miles long. Benches are placed along the routes for resting.
  • Docks: Fixed dock with no railings.
  • Boat Tours:
    • The ferry to Shell Island is approximately a 15-minute ride.
    • Wheelchairs and motorized scooters can be accommodated on the boat.
    • Motorized scooters are not permitted on Shell Island beaches.
    • During high tide, stairs are available to assist with boarding.
  • Boat Rentals: There is no ADA-specific launch, but team members are available to assist guests with boarding and disembarking.

Lodging – Eco-Tents

  • Rooms: Eco-tents are located at ground level, and a movable ramp is available for access.
  • Doorways: Tents feature zippered enclosures instead of doors, which can be adjusted to accommodate wheelchairs.
  • Bathrooms:
    • All showers on the property are roll-in accessible.
    • Grab bars are installed in showers and next to toilets.
  • Lighting: Lighting is automated for ease of use.

Food and Dining

  • Accessibility: Walk-up food concessions are wheelchair accessible, including the service area and surrounding seating.
  • Dietary Accommodations: While the menu does not specifically cater to gluten-free or allergy-restricted diets, staff will do their best to accommodate dietary needs when informed.
