A 3-Day St. Andrews Blue Moon Getaway Itinerary
Dates: Friday May 29th – Sunday May 31st
Theme: A relaxing coastal escape featuring wildlife, island adventures, and a rare Blue Moon experience.
Day 1 – Friday: Wildlife Observation
- Arrival:
- Check into your premium glamping tent at St. Andrews State Park
- Take a walk around the nearby Marina and catch a glimpse of kayakers heading out on the water
- Afternoon:
- Head over to Gator Lake and spend the afternoon exploring its scenic trails
- Snap a photo of a great blue heron or one of the park’s gators
- Evening:
- Wind down with a sunset cruise at 5:30pm
- Board the spacious ferry and take in stunning sunset views and possible dolphin sightings
Day 2 – Saturday: Paint and Sip
- Morning:
- Beat the crowds and hop on the Shell Island Ferry for a day exploring the untouched nature preserve of Shell Island
- Stop by the Camp Store to pick up snacks for the day
- Afternoon:
- Spend time walking along the 7-mile coastline of the island
- Keep an eye out for unique seashells along the shore
- Catch the ferry back in time for a late lunch at Lands End Grill by the Jetty
- Evening:
- Freshen up in your glamping tent before heading to the Jetty for your 6:00pm paint and sip
- Grab your favorite beverage and relax as instructor Sierra Sons guides you through a Blue Moon themed painting session
- Capture a photo of your finished masterpiece
- Night:
- Turn in early to prepare for a pre-dawn start the next day
Day 3 – Sunday: Blue Moon Viewing
- Before Dawn:
- Wake up at 4:00am to catch the rise of the Blue Moon, the first since August 2024
- Take photos with the natural beauty of St. Andrews State Park as your backdrop
- Relax on the porch of your glamping tent and watch the sunrise over the Marina
- Morning:
- Stop by the Camp Store for a quick snack before departure
- Head home with lasting memories from your Blue Moon getaway
